Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, purchasing or using Speakribe (the "Software") or the speakribe.com website, you agree to these Terms of Service, which form a binding agreement between you and Nomadan Apps Ltd ("Company", "we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live in order to buy a licence.

2. What Speakribe is

Speakribe is a macOS application that converts speech to text. You hold a keyboard shortcut, speak, and the transcribed text is typed into whichever application has focus.

Speech recognition runs on your Mac. The Software requires no account, and needs no internet connection to transcribe.

Speakribe is macOS software. It is not sold as, and does not include, a Windows, Linux, iOS or Android version.

3. Your licence

Your purchase grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Software on Macs that you own or control. It is a one-time payment. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, and the licence does not expire.

Every future update to the Software is included at no additional cost. We do not commit to a release schedule, and we do not promise that any particular feature will ever ship.

You may not:

• Resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the Software or your licence
• Share your download link or licence with people who have not bought one
• Attempt to circumvent licensing, or reverse engineer the Software except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded

4. What you dictate stays yours

You retain full ownership of everything you dictate. We claim no rights over your transcripts, and we could not exercise any if we did. Transcription happens on your Mac and the text never reaches us.

You are responsible for what you produce with the Software and for how you use it.

5. Optional AI post-processing

The Software includes an optional post-processing feature, off by default, which can refine a transcript after it is produced. If you enable it and choose a third-party provider, the transcribed text is sent to that provider under your own API key and under that provider's terms.

We are not a party to that exchange. We do not proxy, log or store the text, we do not hold your key, and we are not responsible for that provider's availability, output or handling of your data.

6. Purchase, payment and refunds

Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for your purchase. They are the seller, they process the payment, and they are responsible for charging and remitting any applicable VAT or sales tax. Your receipt comes from them.

We offer a refund within 14 days of purchase. Email support@speakribe.com with your order reference. A refund revokes the licence and the associated download link.

Nothing in these terms limits statutory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence, including any statutory right of withdrawal, which applies in addition to the refund offered above.

Prices shown are the prices at the time of purchase. Promotional pricing is time-limited and may end or change at any time; a price change never affects a licence you have already bought.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Software is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Speech recognition is inherently imperfect. Accuracy varies with microphone, accent, background noise and subject matter, and we do not warrant any particular accuracy rate, nor that the Software will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Review transcribed text before relying on it somewhere an error would be costly.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Software.

Our total liability for all claims is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.

Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9. Termination

We may revoke a licence obtained fraudulently, or one whose payment is reversed or charged back. Otherwise your licence is perpetual and we cannot switch it off. The Software runs locally and does not check in with us to keep working.

The sections on ownership, warranty disclaimers and limitation of liability survive termination.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted here. Changes are not retroactive: the terms you bought under continue to govern the licence you already hold.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Cyprus, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts there.

12. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, it will be interpreted so as to achieve its intent as far as the law allows, and the remaining provisions continue in force. A failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it.

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Software.
