Speakribe vs Wispr Flow
Both turn speech into clean text in any app. The difference is where the work happens and how you pay for it. Wispr Flow sends your audio to its servers and bills every month; Speakribe runs on your Mac and bills once. If you want cross-platform apps and team management, Wispr Flow is the more complete product. If you want your voice to stay on your machine and your bill to stop, that's Speakribe.

Choose Speakribe if…
Your work is confidential, or you simply dislike your voice leaving your machine. You want dictation on a plane, on hotel wifi, or with the network off entirely. Or the maths bothers you: a $15/mo subscription passes Speakribe's one-time $29.99 in two months and keeps going.
Choose Wispr Flow if…
You dictate across a Mac, a PC and a phone and want one account covering all of them. You want a team plan with shared billing and usage dashboards. Or you actively want cloud processing so that a heavier model can rewrite and tidy your text as you speak. Speakribe does none of those things. It is a Mac app that runs by itself.
Questions people actually ask
- Is Speakribe cheaper than Wispr Flow?
- Over any period longer than about two months, yes. Speakribe is $29.99 once. Wispr Flow's Pro plan is $15 per user per month, so it passes $29.99 in the second month and continues from there. Wispr Flow does have a free tier if your volume is low.
- Does Wispr Flow work offline?
- No. Wispr Flow processes audio on its servers, so it needs a connection. Speakribe transcribes on your Mac and works with the network switched off.
- Can I use Speakribe on Windows?
- No. Speakribe is macOS only. If you need Windows or a phone, Wispr Flow covers more platforms than we do.
